Storm at Sugar Bowl
Saturday after Thanksgiving, a storm looked like it was rolling in. Jeremy brought his board down with him from Irvine, so we decided to brave the weather and hit Sugar Bowl for the day. Free tickets from some comped Tahoe Cards, courtesy of Jim.
On the way, we saw several SUVs spun out, and this was when we were still in the flatlands. Stupid Californians who don't know how to drive in rain, much less snow.
By the time we hit the chain controlled area, we had seen at least one or two other trucks and SUVs that had gone off the side of the road (but both looked like they were able to get back on.)
Anyways, we took it really slow, and still made it to Sugar Bowl by 10 or 10:30AM. Snow was coming down pretty steadily the whole time. Fresh powder was tasty for me, not so much for Jerm, who needs more practice in it. (Also, I probably shouldn't have taken him down a slightly steep, slightly deep trail for the first run of the day. Oops, sorry Jerm.)
